The complexity of our planet points to a ‘Deliberate Designer’ who not only created our universe, but also continues to sustain it. Many examples or evidences showing The Gods’ design and interference could be given, possibly with no end. But here are a few:
The Construction of Human Body:
As can be understood from the above verses that one doesn’t have to venture far to realize whether The God does exist or not. A thoughtful look into one’s own self is sufficient to provide enough evidence or signs of The Gods’ existence. We don’t have to be a scientist or a philosopher or a thinker, with our minimal ability to ponder over the construction of our own body, we can easily find humbling evidences of The Gods’ existence.
How living cells transform into transparent lens and gets placed within the cornea of our eyes, and how other living cells transform to become the membrane for hearing? It’s so amazing to know the functioning of our brain; the circulatory system; the digestive system; the nervous system; over and above how feelings, emotions and thoughts subtly transform not only our facial expressions but the entire bodily appearance and gait. One would invariably utter:
“Our Lord, You did not create this in vain, glory to You… [Qur’an: 03:191]
This clearly indicates that these things didn’t come in to existence in a random or haphazard way, as we notice a deliberate design behind their existence. So, if we want to find The God – The Creator of all things, the evidence of His existence is embedded within ourselves. In fact, if one frees himself from different kinds of prejudices caused by our own upbringing, it is literally hard to miss the graphic evidences in the form of His creation that surrounds us from within and outside.
Like some scientists would tell you that in order to duplicate the digestive system you’d need a huge laboratory and still it wouldn’t operate as efficiently as a naturally created organ would such as the stomach. We have acids in our stomachs that can erode metal but it doesn’t hurt us. How could that be haphazard?
When, the probability of having a single combination of all favorable factors responsible for the creation of the very first step of creation is ‘infinite’; the possibility of entire creation as it exists today cannot simply be calculated. It is Infinite to the power of Infinite, if a term like that could be coined! It is “beyond limits of possibility”! But the truth of the matter is, it exists! It’s shear existence, is the most astounding proof of the existence of The God – The Supreme Being that orchestrated this creation!
Coded Instructions – The DNA:
What if, we come to know that all living systems universally obey a very profound biological instruction manual called DNA, and this super-coded scroll is a complete, finished document with systematic, clear and timed instructions for each aspect of the living object. It’s well structured, organized and amazingly secured! It’s written with a clear purpose, just like any other instruction manual that is written with a purpose in mind. A single DNA is a three-billion-lettered chemical code, telling each individual cell to act in a certain way, at a certain point of time and stage. It is a complete instruction manual!
Isn’t this so amazing? One may ask… who embedded this information into in each human cell, and who enabled them to be deciphered exactly the way they are to be interpreted? These are not just chemicals. These are the chemical coded-messages that instruct, in a very detailed way, exactly how a particular cell should develop.
Natural, biological causes are clueless about the seamless plan, design and auto-execution of this programmed information into every living system. One cannot assume the existence of such precise instructions and system to decipher it, without the presence of The God who deliberately created living things.
The Human Brain:
The human brain processes more than a million messages a second, filtering out the relatively unimportant information from the important to allow us to focus and operate effectively. It functions very differently from the other organs. It has the intelligence, the ability to reason, to produce feelings, emotions and reactions, to dream and to plan, to trigger thoughts and action, and has the ability to remember and relate things around. Over and above it unconsciously manages trillion other things to maintain your body, safety, and repair system, like a system default.
The Earth and It’s Environment:
The Earth’s Size: Let’s move beyond ourselves, to find further evidence of the existence of The God. The Earth’s size and corresponding gravity holds a thin layer of mostly nitrogen and oxygen gases, only extending about 50 miles above the Earth’s surface. If Earth were smaller, an atmosphere would be impossible, like the planet Mercury. If Earth were larger, its atmosphere would contain free hydrogen, like Jupiter. Earth is the only known planet equipped with an atmosphere of the right mixture of gases to sustain plant, animal and human life.
The Earth’s Location: The Earth is located at the right distance from the sun. Consider the temperature swings we encounter, roughly -30 degrees to +120 degrees. If the Earth were any further away from the sun, we would all freeze; and if it were any closer, we would have all burnt up. Even a fractional variance in the Earth’s position to the sun would make life on Earth impossible.
The Earth’s Spin: Despite the Earth remaining at this perfect distance from the sun, if it remained stationary, the life would have been impossible, but it spins on its axis, while it rotates around the sun, allowing the entire surface of the Earth to be warmed and cooled every day.
The Earth’s Moon: The Earth’s moon is also the perfect size and distance from the Earth for its gravitational pull. The moon creates important ocean tides and movement so ocean waters do not stagnate, and yet our massive oceans are restrained from spilling over across the continents – due to such a balanced lunar pull.
The Earth’s Water: Its colorless, odorless and taste-less, and yet no living thing can survive without water. All living beings including plants, animals and human beings are all made up mostly of water (about two-thirds of our body is water). More so, it remains liquid for a wide range of temperature between boiling point and freezing point, allowing it sustain liquidity exactly within the perfect range of temperature fluctuation observed on this planet Earth.
Water is a universal solvent. This property of water means that various chemicals, minerals and nutrients, and all living systems use this unique property of water to carry the nutrients throughout the bodies of all living beings including plants and the animals. Water is also chemically neutral that doesn’t interact with most of the substances it carries. It has a unique surface tension. Water in plants can therefore flow upward against gravity, and it freezes from the top down and frozen water floats without crushing the life underneath during the winters.
Water annually passes through an elaborate water-cycle system that purifies it and recycles it into the system while executing enormous services for the sustenance of life.
The Earth’s Ecological Balance: Let’s consider the ecological balance! Scientists point to clear evidences that there exists an ‘intelligent and adaptive’ design and organization within the physical, atmospheric, climatic variables versus the vegetative and animal life forms. As if, everything exists in a delicate and balanced proportion to sustain life, which is anything but random.
And when we look into the Word of God (Qur’an), we find: “God created everything in exact proportion.” [Qur’an: 16:25] explaining that He created everything with a deliberate design. In another verse, it says, “Were they created from nothing or are they themselves the creators?” No one claims that he’s created from nothing, nor can he claim that he is the creator [of the heavens and earth]. Then the verse continues, “Or did they create the heavens and earth?” No one claims that either. Then it says, “Nay but they see not.” [Qur’an: 52: 35-36] Its calls for observational-science! It’s only that when we apply it in the right place, it makes the difference.
Beginning of the Creation:
Scientists have evidence that our universe began with the Big Bang. This was the singular start to everything that exists: the beginning of the universe, the start of space, and even the start of the time itself!
Astrophysicist Robert Jastrow, a self-described agnostic, stated, “The seed of everything that has happened in the Universe was planted in that first instant; every star, every planet and every living creature in the Universe came into being as a result of events that were set in motion in the moment of the cosmic explosion. It was literally the moment of Creation.”
From a philosophical point of view, this finding has traumatic implications for science. Scientists have always felt more comfortable with the idea of a Universe that has existed forever, because their thinking is permeated with the idea of Cause and Effect; they believe that every event that takes place in the world can be explained in a rational way as the consequence of some previous event.
But the latest astronomical results indicate that at some point in the past the chain of cause and effect terminated abruptly. An important event occurred – the origin of the world-for which there is no known cause or explanation within the realm of science. The Universe flashed into being, and we cannot find out what caused that to happen.
This is a distressing result for scientists because, in the scientist’s view, given enough time and money, he must be able to find an explanation for the beginning of the Universe on his own terms-an explanation that fits into the framework of natural rather than supernatural forces. There is nothing to counter the existence of Supernatural Power (The God) that caused this massive creation.
The Order and Organization in the Universe:
Why is the universe so orderly, so reliable, and so mathematically predictable? Why the speed of light is constant, and why the earth spins in the exact same 24 hours. How is it that there are ‘laws of nature’ that never change? How there are ‘laws of physics’ that are universally honored?
There is, however, no logical necessity for a universe to be that way, let alone one that abides by the rules of mathematics. The fact that there are set-rules that are universally obeyed, a system that is so well organized, as against chaotic or disorderly, is a kind of miracle in itself.
Where does the order and organization stems from? How is it that despite propensity to attain disorder, we see precise order and organization, within the universe, right from sub-atomic structures to galactic constructions?
It all points towards the presence of One Supernatural Being commonly known as The God.
The Conclusion:
We can go on describing the amazing wisdom, planning, balance and organization that is embedded within our own body, or within our environment, or within our planetary system, and wonder over the meticulous perfection that is embedded innately into every aspect of the entire creation. It all points towards the existence of a supreme being – a perfect Creator and Sustainer. Just like, the presence of a painting or an object like a Pen or Pencil, is the sign and evidence of the presence of its maker; the presence of the enormous creation, is a definite sign of the ‘Ultimate Creator’.
