The Qur’an is the final revelation of The God. It was revealed through Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Its primary message is the centered around the Oneness of God or Islamic monotheism.
The Qur’an is the only book of The God that is available even today in the exact original text in which it was revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The God has promised in the Qur’an that it is He who will preserve it until the last day. And today, after about 1400 years later, the promise still holds well – a living, astounding miracle in itself.
The preservation of the Qur’an is a magnificent deed, which is beyond human capabilities. Since, the time of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Muslims have memorized all or parts of the Qur’an, and the chain is still unbroken. During the time of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, there were several Muslims that memorized the Qur’an in its entirety.
The Qur’an was penned down in the presence of the Prophet himself under his own instructions, and the official copies were compiled in full written form within just a few years, after Prophet Muhammad ﷺ died, unlike Bible that was compiled centuries after Jesus’s (عليه السلام) ascension.
The tradition of memorizing the Qur’an still holds true across all geographies wherever Muslims live. The Qur’an that we use today, is exactly the same as the one, used over a thousand-four-hundred years ago. And since the Qur’an is in Arabic, we always have one, standardized version.
If, every single Qur’an in print were destroyed today, and every computer disk holding the Qur’an were destroyed, and every audio tape, CD, DVD, or film with the Qur’an were destroyed, it could be reproduced in a matter of hours, simply from the memory of millions of those who have memorized it.
A Muslim must accept and believe in all of the Books of The God (Allah) that have been revealed upon other Prophets before the Qur’an, which is the last and final revelation from The God. It is a required part of Muslim faith. A Muslim cannot accept the book (Qur’an) revealed to Prophet Muhammad and reject the book of Prophet Moses (peace be upon them both).
When we speak of The God’s books, we are really talking about His revelations. These revelations were sent by Him to his messengers as guidance for mankind. And as Muslims, we are obliged to believe in them all.
